Over the last few months, our team has consulted with different organizations of various sizes and spoken at several conferences of government leaders.
The City of San Jose, California has retained the Mejorando Group to develop a Workforce Planning Program. The City has experienced unprecedented budget reductions resulting in the loss of a number of seasoned workforce members. Fortunately, the budget situation has improved and organizational leaders want to clarify a path forward on ways to equip the City’s workforce with the capabilities necessary to succeed in the 21st century.
In Vail, Patrick presented “Reinventing Government in the 21st Century” at the annual conference of the Colorado Municipal League.
Patrick designed and facilitated an Advance meeting with members of the City of Scottsdale, Arizona’s Human Services Division to re-establish the focus and service of workforce members.
Patrick presented his newest workshop “The Future is Now: The New Role of the Finance Pro” at the Government Finance Officers Association annual conference in San Francisco.
Patrick was a panelist presenting a “Succession Planning” webinar sponsored by IPMA-HR (International Public Management Association for Human Resources).
Patrick presented “Reinventing Government in the 21st Century, “Your Leadership Playbook” and “Measuring Performance” sessions at the annual conference of the Washington City/County Management Association in Port Townsend.
The Mejorando Group was selected to conduct a Service Delivery Optimization Study for the Town of Queen Creek, Arizona. After scores of employees were laid-off, resulting from a 40% decline in their general fund revenue, trends are showing an uptick in residential and commercial development and the budget is on the mend. Our report including a series of synchronized recommendations about staffing, services and technology will be provided in mid-October.
Patrick delivered “Your Personal CEO: Replenishing Your Passion” and “R.A.P.I.D. Innovation: Converting Ideas into Results” training workshops for the City of Midland, Texas.
The City of Chandler, Arizona has retained the Mejorando Group to design their inaugural Succession Planning Program. Project work begins on-site in September facilitating groups of employees to create a competency model that will be the basis for a Pilot Leadership Development Program.
Patrick is a member of the faculty for Arizona State University, School of Public Affairs and recently completed teaching a graduate course on organizational change.
