Over the last few months, our team has consulted with different organizations of various sizes and spoken at several conferences of government leaders.
The Ontario Municipal Administrators Association (Canada) held its fall conference in Huntsville, Ontario, about a two-hour drive north of Toronto, in what Canadians refer to as “cottage country.” A wonderful setting for Patrick to present “Growing Our Own Leaders” that focused on effective ways to build a stronger government workforce.
The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) held its annual conference in Patrick’s backyard of Phoenix and he presented two workshops – “R.A.P.I.D. Innovation: Converting Ideas into Results” and “Your Leadership Playbook.” Watch a short clip on You Tube to learn more about Your Leadership Playbook.
In Denver, Patrick wrapped up his work with the City’s Water Quality Task Force facilitating the group toward its adoption of a contemporary, progressive and practical water quality plan to govern future land development.
The Massachusetts Municipal Management Association held its fall conference on the campus of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and Patrick presented “Your Leadership Playbook” workshop.
In Big Sky country of Helena, Montana the State government held its annual “Managing Montana” Conference and Patrick presented two sessions “Help! My Most Experienced People Are Retiring” and “Leading Change isn’t a Spectator Sport.”
In Austin, Texas Patrick served as the keynote speaker at the City’s Executive Leadership Academy presenting “Leading Government in the 21st Century” designed to equip these ascending leaders with a powerful framework on ways to navigate the future.
The International Public Management Association-Human Resources (IPMA-HR) held their annual conference in Nashville and Patrick presented two sessions – “The Future of Government: Me and My Career” and “Employer Branding: It’s a Whole Lot More than a New Logo.”
In Gilbert, Arizona Patrick began a partnership to assist the City accelerate its Talent Management Program designed to build a stronger workforce. First step was to work with select employees to generate performance competencies. Second step was to evaluate the organization’s employer brand through its recruitment, selection and promotional practices. Study was to be completed in mid-December with implementation soon to follow.
Patrick continued his work with six aspiring department directors of the Union Sanitary District by providing coaching service along with two days of highly intense, leadership development workshops.
The State of California Franchise and Tax Board held its annual leadership symposium in Sacramento, and Patrick was the keynote speaker presenting “From Typewriters to iPads: Communication across Generations.”
